The Great Horned Owl

The Great Horned Owl's binocular vision and acute hearing distinguishes it as North America's most perceptive creature. Its loud hooting call can be heard from several miles away. These characteristics have made this bird a favorite in Native American lore. Since 1925 our craftsmen's acute abilities have been producing distinctive "feather raising" impressions. The unique effects of those impressions have become a favorite among printers, graphic designers — and anybody else who gives a hoot!

Production notes:

The image of the owl was embossed with MH/CP #750 Smoke Tint leaf using a brass sculptured brass die that was hand modeled by one of MH/CP's skilled die makers. The die and stamping were used to demonstrate the skill of the MH/CP employees during an open house in 1999.
